Description

The aim of the workshop is to increase the understanding of gender in LLs and provide practical ways in which LLs can become more gender sensitive.

‘Gender’ remains a complex issue, with many simply dismissing it as simply a woman’s problem or not relevant to their work. The workshop aims to put this right, through

  • A short presentation with examples of how gender is relevant to all LLs.
  • Scenario-based activities in which participants will work in teams to discuss everyday gender related problems faced by LLs and select from a series of tools and methods developed by GILL project, which can be used to alleviate them
  • Action learning sets to develop Gender Action Plans for their LLs

At the end of the workshop, all attendees will:

  1. have co-designed a ‘gender action plan’ to implement in their LLs;
  2. receive a certificate in gender competence.
