Description
This session explores how startups are using the Andorra Living Lab to develop and test innovative solutions.
Three companies from different sectors will share their experiences, learnings, and results. The session also highlights the unique small-state perspective and the key role of the public sector. Andorra Living Lab connects government, startups, researchers, and citizens to co-create and validate new technologies, fostering collaboration, talent, and a dynamic innovation ecosystem.

She brings experience from consulting for multinational companies as well as entrepreneurial projects. Holding a degree in Business Administration and Management from IQS University, she has further enhanced her skills through advanced programs at ESADE and IESE. Passionate about driving projects that deliver tangible results, she focuses on connecting teams, startups, and key stakeholders to foster dynamic and impactful innovation ecosystems.

Jordi Ascensi Sala
Head of Technology, Andorra Research and InnovationJordi Ascensi Sala serves as Head of Technology at Andorra Research + Innovation (AR+I), the principality's premier research and innovation agency that hosts the Andorra Living Lab. His research focuses on the ethical implications of technology in human communities, leveraging data science to enhance understanding of society and environment, while spearheading initiatives to develop Andorra as a country-scale Living Lab. He represents Andorra as a technical expert and focal point for prestigious international organizations including UNESCO and the Council of Europe. With over 25 years of experience in Strategy, Innovation, and Project Management across Information Technology platforms, networks, and systems, Jordi has worked across diverse sectors and geographical regions. His academic credentials include a Telecommunications Engineering degree from UPC-Barcelona Tech, an MBA from HEC Montreal, an Executive Master in Marketing Management from EADA Barcelona, and a Master's Degree in Philosophy from the Open University of Catalonia.

Oriol Travesset
Coordinator of the Sustainability area, Andorra Research + InnovationOriol Travesset is the coordinator of the Sustainability area at Andorra Research + Innovation. He holds a PhD in Sustainability from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and specializes in complex systems modeling, energy planning and sustainable mobility. His initial education is in Telecommunications Engineering, later complemented with a Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management. He has developed his researcher career mainly in Andorra, previously working at the Andorra Sustainability Observatory. He has led multiple European competitive research projects, co-supervised a doctoral thesis, and serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals.

Xavier Llort
CPO at HydsM.Sc. in Maths and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. He joined the CRAHI-UPC in 2002, where he did his dissertation on the error structure of radar rainfall and its errors. Until May 2011, he worked as the Development Head of CRAHI-UPC. Since June 2011, he has been enrolled as Head of R&D and now CPO at HYDS. His interests include precipitation estimation with focus on applied solutions: design, development, operation and maintenance of Early Warning Systems and Decision Support Systems for organisations involved in emergency management at all levels (National - Regional - Local).

With over 20 years of experience in the technology and entrepreneurship sectors, has led projects in digital transformation, strategy, product development, and innovation across a variety of industries. Currently serves as CTO and co-founder of YASYT Robotics and CEO of Identitat, two initiatives that leverage purposeful technology to improve people’s lives through innovative and socially impactful solutions. Also teaches Agile methodologies, Martech, and Digital Product Management in master’s programs at La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull, The Valley Digital Business School, and the Luxembourg School of Business. Passionate about digital strategy, user experience, and sustainable growth, applying frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean to design solutions that meet the real needs of people, teams, and organizations.
