Javier Burón-García is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Product Design at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He is founding Director of Fab Lab Limerick, which is part of Limerick’s Citizen Innovation Lab. His research focuses on the role of the creative industries in local socio-economic development, the use of personal digital fabrication in architecture and the impact of open-source technologies and participatory processes in design. He has been member of the Limerick Urbact Local Group, member of the board of directors of Fab Foundation Ireland and part of the Irish team at the 11th edition of the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
