Basic Track Lessons Description
Living Lab Basics, Long-term Vision & Openness of Innovation Processes
Beginning with a deep dive into the fundamentals of Living Labs, this module provides participants with a clear understanding of their essential components, operational dynamics, and the key roles and responsibilities of those involved. It highlights common pitfalls and structural challenges while emphasising the importance of long-term thinking to establish and maintain robust multi-stakeholder collaborations. Special attention is given to different governance models and how they influence sustainability, decision-making, and stakeholder alignment. The role of the host organisation is also unpacked, including its influence on structure, neutrality, and resource allocation. This sets the stage for strategic thinking around Living Lab positioning and long-term value creation. Finally, participants will be guided in identifying strategies to promote openness in innovation processes, foster trust, and cultivate meaningful collaboration.
Co-creating Impact and Strategies for Value Creation in Living Labs
This interactive session dives into value creation and strategic positioning, combining expert insights with real-life cases and participatory exercises. Through hands-on tools and collaborative reflection, participants will strengthen their ability to design and implement positive impact-driven Living Lab strategies tailored to multi-actor ecosystems.
Living Lab Basics, Long-term Vision & Openness of Innovation Processes
This session will focus on building your familiarity with participatory methods from across disciplines, to support meaningful engagement across the Living Lab spectrum – from exploring lived experience, to surfacing collective visions, through to designing and activating experiments in real world settings. Sam brings experience from facilitating co-creation and experimentation in a range of contexts – from youth mental health to climate action, and from a range of cultural contexts including Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
