11:00 – 11:30In this workshop you will experience “A Day in the Life of a Living Lab Coordinator.”
During this 1.5-hour session, you will step into the shoes of a new Urban Living Lab (ULL) coordinator,
experiencing the challenges and rewards of this dynamic but challenging role.
During the workshop, your job is to navigate a complex ULL project in Amsterdam focused on sustainable, energy-positive neighborhoods.
11:30 – 12:00The workshop is designed as an interactive journey where you will bring order to the “chaos” of a real-world Living Lab project in Amsterdam.
To support this journey, you will be introduced to the various activities of a project, and structure these using the Urban Living Lab Multilevel Framework.
During this journey, your mission as a new Living Lab Coordinator is to structure and react to a broad range of situations,
representing different activities and events that may take place during the project.
12:00 – 12:25The Multilevel Framework and the accompanying Eight-Step Living Lab Way of Working will help you to visualize and understand
the key elements of the deployment of Urban Living Labs, as applied in the context of the Municipality of Amsterdam.
Your job is to bring order to chaos, map out the system, and connect its various parts.
12:25 – 12:30By the end of the workshop, you will:
  • Gain a foundational understanding of the Urban Living Lab Multilevel Framework.
  • Get to know the ULL Way of Working and the eight Key Activities that can help structure a ULL project.
  • Develop insight into the role of a Living Lab coordinator, also in relationship to other stakeholders involved.

This workshop is a hands-on way to explore how a Living Lab coordinator can navigate the complexities of an Urban Living Lab,
making sense of different definitions, roles, and activities to drive meaningful urban change.
You can download the complete Urban Living Lab Way of Working Handbook.
