Call for Workshops at OpenLivingLab Days 2024

LIVING LABS FRONTIERS: Driving systemic change through Soci(et)al Engagement, for real impact. 

Do you have a dynamic and engaging workshop idea that aligns with the theme of Living Labs and societal change?The OpenLivingLab Days (OLLD) is inviting proposals for workshops to be held at its annual conference in Timisoara, Romania, between September 25-27, 2024.

Key characteristics. We are looking for workshops that will:

  • Engage participants actively and equally
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration
  • Equip participants with solutions they can apply in their work
  • Produce tangible outcomes for participants
  • Be fun and goal-oriented!

Deadline: Workshop proposals are due by May 2, 2024.

Key Information:

  • Workshop duration: 90 minutes
  • Number of participants: 20-50

Submission requirements:

  • Online application form
  • Short video (max. 1 minute) explaining your workshop’s goal and value
  • (Optional) Additional audiovisual materials to support your proposal

Your workshop proposal should address:

  • Conference track: How your workshop connects to the conference theme and track(s)
  • Goal: What participants will achieve by attending your workshop
  • Outcomes: Knowledge or experience gained by participants
  • Methodology: How participants will engage and the workshop flow
  • Audience: Who should attend your workshop
  • Value for participants: Benefits and solutions gained from your workshop
  • Workshop facilitators: Short bios of all facilitators

Please note that Workshop organisers enjoy a reduced fee for the conference under the ticket category “Presenters/organizers”.  A maximum of 3 tickets per workshop can be purchased at this price category. These tickets may only be purchased by the workshop organisers and can involve only those who are indicated in the application form as facilitators of the workshop and who are actively involved in running the workshop, or as speakers. 

Workshop proposal evaluation criteria:

The OpenLivingLab Days (OLLD) is seeking proposals for engaging and interactive workshops to be held at its annual conference in Timisoara, Romania, from September 25-27, 2024. We are looking for innovative and well-designed workshops that contribute to the advancement of Living Labs.

Workshop proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Quality and Details of the Proposed Idea (33.3%)

Does the workshop concept address a relevant and timely issue within the Living Lab domain?

Is the workshop idea well-developed, with clear goals, objectives, and outcomes?

  • Interactivity and Engagement (33.3%)

Does the workshop promote active participation and collaboration among attendees?

Will the workshop methods effectively engage participants and foster knowledge exchange?

  • Value for Participants and Solutions’ Adaptability (33.3%)

What practical knowledge, skills, or solutions will participants gain from the workshop?

Can the knowledge and solutions be applied and adapted to different Living Lab contexts?

Will the workshop contribute to broader advancements in the Living Lab field?

Workshop Methodology and Flow (10%)
Does the workshop methodology clearly explain how participants will engage and learn?
Is the flow of the workshop well-structured, with appropriate time allocation for different activities?

Additional factors considered (may not be explicitly weighted):

  • Team expertise and experience of the workshop facilitators
  • Quality of the 1-minute video presentation
  • Overall balance and variety within the conference program

The workshops will be evaluated by a team of 5 evaluators and the feedback will be communicated by the 16th of May, 2024.

We encourage you to submit a compelling proposal that demonstrates the value and impact your workshop will have on participants and the Living Lab community.
