Learning Lab Day 0: 2024 Edition on 24th of September

The Learning Lab Day 0 is a one-day training offered to newcomers and intermediate learners of the Living Lab community and enthusiast practitioners from the local ecosystem interested in learning more about the key elements and operations of Living Labs.  

Learning Lab Day 0 brings together a group of experienced trainers on Living Lab methodologies and tools, partners from international projects aiming to set-up Living Labs, expert ENoLL members, students, researchers, and practitioners from Living Labs. Learning Lab Day 0 will offer lectures and case study presentations connecting theory to practice, as well as panel discussions and hands-on exercises to support Living Lab newcomers and practitioners in applying learnings into their own specific contexts. 

Target audience

Living Lab newcomers, participants with an intermediate knowledge of Living Labs, and enthusiast practitioners from the local ecosystem who would like to explore more practical roles and running of activities within their own Living Lab. 

BASIC TRACK

Newcomers  

Learners with minimum knowledge of Living Labs aiming at:  

  • gaining knowledge on how to set-up a Living lab,  
  • opening a Living Lab,  
  • applying the Living Lab methodology in their own context and local ecosystem,  
  • learning from successful real-life cases,   
  • understanding how to apply theory into practice when setting up a Living Lab.  

Local Ecosystem  

Learners from the OpenLivingLab Days host city, Timisoara (Romania) with minimum knowledge of Living Labs aiming at:   

  • gaining knowledge on how to set-up a Living lab,  
  • opening a Living Lab,  
  • applying the Living Lab methodology in their own context and local ecosystem,  
  • learning from successful real-life cases,   
  • understanding how to apply theory into practice when setting up a Living Lab. 
INTERMEDIATE TRACK

Intermediates 

Practitioners with an intermediate level of knowledge of Living Labs aiming at: 

  • gaining knowledge on how to set-up a Living lab,  
  • opening a Living Lab,  
  • applying the Living Lab methodology in their own context and local ecosystem,  
  • learning from successful real-life cases,   
  • understanding how to apply theory into practice when setting up a Living Lab.

The 2024 program of Learning Lab Day 0 will be organized into 2 tracks:   

  • Newcomers Track: THE LIVING LAB FUNDAMENTALS 

Ideal for those stepping into the Living Lab community or exploring from within Romania’s local ecosystem. This track is designed to demystify Living Labs, guiding participants from foundational concepts to the essentials of establishing one. It’s a condensed yet comprehensive version of the ENoLL Virtual Learning Lab, tackling common questions like: How do you kickstart a Living Lab? Who should be involved? How can a Living Lab thrive sustainably? And how do you safeguard its outcomes? With four engaging sessions, each followed by interactive Q&A sessions, and a hands-on segment, this track ensures an enriching learning experience for all. 

  • INTERMEDIATE TRACK: EMPOWERMENT THROUGH CO-DESIGN: HOW TO ADVANCE LIVING LAB PRACTICES  

Tailored for practitioners with a solid understanding of Living Labs, this track delves into the power of user empowerment through co-design. We will explore the role of panel managers within a Living Lab to empower participants in orchestrating impactful projects, delving deeper into co-designing Living Lab infrastructure alongside stakeholders. In this track we will also understand the intersection of social innovation and arts practices.
