Model of how digital technologies can support health & well-being of people living in restricted circumstances

GOAL

The goal of the workshop is to define «Health & Wellbeing Adaptive Digital Toolkits» for people at different ages with different physical and mental conditions.

CHALLENGE

The reason for selecting the topic has been the experience of living in restricted circumstances and how these restrictions can effect the physical and mental well-being of people.

This has especially effected people in ages 70 and above. Therefore there is a need for finding solutions for the well-being of people living in restricted circumstances. The definition of restricted circumstances can cover a wide range of possibilities but in general we can summarize them as below

  • People who can not leave their living environment because of pandemic restrictions
  • People who can not leave their living environment because of restrictions caused by persons health reasons
  • People who can not leave their living environment because of war or strike reasons
  • People mentioned can be categorised as (i) Infant (ii) Small Children (iii) Teen agers (iv) Young (v) Adult (vi) Mature (vii) Old
  • Well-being conditions of people can be categorised as (i) Healthy (ii) Physically disabled (iii) Mentally disabled

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the workshop is to define «Health & Wellbeing Adaptive Digital Toolkits» for people at different ages with different physical and mental conditions. Adaptive Toolkits means that the content of the Toolbox can be changed depending on the needs of the person, by selecting from a pool/library of digital tools & services.

OUTCOMES

TANGIBLE 

The expected outcome is to discuss and suggest various Kits containing different Tools for different needs of people in different age groups and in different living circumstances
1- What should be the Digital and Physical Tools required in the Tool Kit
2- What are the benefits of these Tools for the citizens
3- How can these tools be used by citizens
4- What other parties must be involved for the most effect use of these tools

INTANGIBLE 

Learnings can be about (i) Digital / Non Digital Tools that can be used by restricted people in different age categories (ii) The future trends (iii) Present technologies

BRIEF OUTLINE / METHODOLOGY

Selecting 4 people categories to be worked on. Max. number of participation is 4 groups of 5 people (A list of categories will be given)
Defining the most critical 10 needs for each category (A pre-prepared list of needs will be provided)
Preparing a list of Tools and Platforms that will cover the needs of each category (A guidance of Tools and Platforms will be provided)
Simulating how the citizens can use the digital tools that are in their Toolbox

– Benefits for the citizen
– Gaps / Improvement areas (Technological, Operation and Governance)
