DESCRIPTION

Applying the “Futures Design” Methodology, we will explore potential futures and their impact on Living Labs in the era of digital transition. Participants acquire strategic foresight skills and learn techniques to analyse insights to drive human centred innovation.

DESCRIPTION

This workshop is designed in the basis of the so called “Futures Design” practice. The attendants (individually and/or small groups) will be asked to use the concepts and techniques to spot potential futures, in order to assess the impact of them on their contexts they work in, so they can get more prepared to face transition to a future state of their Living Labs and other organizations.

The sequence of activities of the workshop is structured in six steps:
11:00 – 11:20 Get prepared:
  • Brief introduction on the main concepts of futures study and the methodology.
  • Examples of use cases on how digital technologies (IA, No Code, Low Code, Digital Twins, etc. ) will impact in the field of human-centered design.
  • Frame the field or context to focus on a clear topic or purpose, and the timescale.
  • Identify assumptions around the future of that context or topic.
11:20 – 11:30 Identify signals: Spot an emergent phenomenon in the present that could impact in your context.

11:30 – 11:50 Investigate signals: Dive in the signals and explore the future effects that could be linked to them.

11:50 – 12:05 Generate scenarios: Generate stories of the potential futures.

12:05 – 12:25 Asses impact: Reflect about the ways your Living Lab or organisation would react to the potential futures. Think in your own Living Lab or organization and share thoughts and doubts with facilitators other participants.

12:25 – 12:30 Closing
