JUAN A BERTOLIN is the Managing Director of Espaitec, Science and Technology Park of Universitat Jaume I in Castellon (Spain), and Chief Innovation and Project Officer (2007- 2016), being his main role to provide the appropiate mechanisms to connect companies settled in the Science and Technology Park (start-ups, spin-off, tractors) to the Global Innovation EcoSystem, providing strategies of technology scouting, open innovation, hybridization management, project management protocols and strategy management.
Espaitec, Science and Technology Park of Universitat Jaume I is being managed by Fundació General of the Universitat Jaume I (general purpose foundation).
Moreover at espaitec, he is leading the e’LivingLab, a Living Lab launched at the Science and Technology Park with the aim of helping SMEs, R&D Groups and University Community to develop their ideas, projects, products under a co- creation paradigm at the Campus of the University of Castellon.
At the University Jaume I of Castellon, he is teaching in several PhD courses, MBA and Masters, on Business Models and Strategy, Innovation Management and coacher at Castellon Global Program,espaitec’s accelerator training program for SMEs.
Currently he is preparing his PhD related to “Science and Technology Parks as promoter agents of Territorial Development into Areas of Innovation ecosystem”.
He is International Association of Science Technology Parks and Areas of Innovation Advisory Council member; Convener of the Thematic Research Group of Science Parks and Incubators and Deputy Convener of the Thematic Research Group University-Industry Partnership both at the Triple Helix Association; Council member of ENoLL (European Network of Living Labs).
Previously, he was Project Manager for twelve years at Accenture, where he developed his professional consulting career in international ICT projects and three years at GRUPO IT DEUSTO, as Account Manager in Mobility, Health and ICT projects.
Physicist by University of Valencia, Master in Local Development Promotion Management at UJI (Universitat Jaume I Castellon) and Postgraduate in General Business Management at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
He has published several papers to conferences and international innovation magazines about Advanced Management in Science and Technology Parks and Open Innovation.
