Innovation Management in Living Lab projects
TIME
Thursday, 9th September, 11:30 -13:00 CEST
GOAL
Get familiar with imec’s Innovation Board, its methodology and the online tool that helps you structure and focus your Living Lab projects.
CHALLENGE
Living labs are complex partnerships that enable quadruple helix innovation projects. There is an abundance of literature and online resources on Living Lab tools and co-creation activities. However, surprisingly, there is a lack of practitioner tools specifically designed for innovation management in living labs. Therefore, in order to help practitioners in the selection of living lab activities and also to allow more comparisons and benchmarking between different projects and living lab organizations, at imec we designed the Innovatrion Board as an assumption-based innovation canvas with an assumptionbased methodology, designed in and for the context of living lab projects. Moreover, we also developed an online platform, IVTx, that allows to log and follow-up on individual Living Lab projects, completely in line with the Innovation Board methodology. During the workshop, we will introduce the Innovation Board by means of a very clear example and subsequently split the group in (maximum 5) thematic groups where each group will work in the digital IVTx platform with a specific case linked to the theme of the group.
OBJECTIVE
-Insight into the Innovation Board, its 8 elements and the relation between them
-Introduction to the Innovation Board methodology
-Understanding of the Innovation Board and the digital platform by mapping a specific case directly in the board
-Getting ready to use the Innovation Board with your own case(s)
OUTCOMES
TANGIBLE -All participants will be able to create their own login to the platform and use it for their own individual Living Lab projects
INTANGIBLE -The participants will gain a deeper understanding of innovation management specifically in the context of Living Labs by the example cases and by the group work
